Guide for business owners · Updated October 2026
How much does a small business website cost?
It depends on what the site has to do. Here's what drives the price, the traps, and what we charge.
What changes the price
- Pages. A shop with a menu needs far less than a firm with a page per service.
- Custom or template. Templates cost less. Custom fits you and stands out.
- Features. Ordering, booking, a second language or more locations add work.
- Words and photos. If you supply them, it goes faster.
- Getting found. A site nobody finds doesn't pay for itself.
What you'll pay every month or year, whoever builds it
- Domain: a small yearly fee. Register it in your name.
- Hosting: often bundled into a care plan.
- Upkeep: updates, backups and security.
- Ordering systems like Square or Toast charge their own fees.
Watch out for
- A domain or Google listing in the builder's name.
- "Free" sites you lose when you stop paying.
- Anyone who guarantees a top spot on Google or ChatGPT.
- No clear answer to "what if I leave?"
